How to Beat the Heat During Pregnancy

Being pregnant at the height of summer is no picnic. You’re hot, sweaty, swollen… and you can’t even cool down with a wine or cocktail!

Don’t despair, summer mamas: here are three refreshing treats you CAN enjoy. They’re ice-cold, incredibly tasty and take just minutes to prepare.

chia pudding

Chia Pudding

Ingredients

6 scoops Oz Farm Pregnant Mother formula

150ml light coconut cream

1-3 tsp honey (to taste)

1/3 cup chia seeds

Blueberries, to serve

Toasted coconut, to serve

 

Method

  1. Add 6 scoops (50g) of Oz Farm Pregnant Mother formula to ½ cup water (either cold or boiled and then cooled to below 50 degrees). Stir until dissolved.
  2. Add more water to make 1 cup (250ml).
  3. Add coconut cream and chia seeds and stir well to combine. Add honey to taste.
  4. Cover and store in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight to thicken.
  5. Divide among serving glasses. Top with blueberries, coconut and an extra drizzle of honey.

 

Banana Berry Smoothie 

Ingredients

6 scoops Oz Farm Pregnant Mother formula

150g strawberries, hulled & roughly chopped

½ cup fresh or frozen raspberries

1 banana, peeled, chopped and frozen

1 Tbsp honey 

Method 

  1. Add 6 scoops (50g) of Oz Farm Pregnant Mother formula to ½ cup water (either cold or boiled and then cooled to below 50 degrees). Stir until dissolved.
  2. Add more water to make 1 cup (250ml).
  3. Pour into a blender together with the fruit and honey.
  4. Blend until smooth and frothy.
  5. Pour into glasses and serve.

 

mango lassi

Mango Lassi

Ingredients

6 scoops Oz Farm Pregnant Mother formula

250ml milk (cow’s milk or almond milk)

250g plain yoghurt

500g frozen mango, chopped

Honey to taste

 

Method

  1. Add 6 scoops (50g) of Oz Farm Pregnant Mother formula to ½ cup water (either cold or boiled and then cooled to below 50 degrees). Stir until dissolved.
  2. Add more water to make 1 cup (250ml).
  3. Pour into a blender together with the milk, yoghurt, frozen mango and honey.
  4. Blend until smooth.
  5. Pour into glasses and serve.
